This Era
This era is like scales
That us weigh:
Some of us are heavy,
Others are by the wind moved away.
Increase your honesty,
You attain heavy weight!
And know the lightness of the person
Is in his deceit!
How many falsehoods they get
From gossip
They spread
About people who are absent,
To give people the illusion that truthfulness them embraced.
They dress the opponent
A poor attire,
But forget
That their own dress reflects its owner!
And how many friends give a drink
To souls in their company!
They make the souls as fresh as water.
And how many malicious people
Became a disease in their company!
They make life narrow,
Like a disease you carry.
And how many poor people amongst us
Have turned their deeds into generosity;
Because of the flood of their good practice,
Their pots also over-flowed.
And how many rich people amongst us
Whose money is a harm;
Due to the evil of their money,
Their good feats became nefarious!
And how many ignorant and false people
You see amid us!
They discuss science
Though they know not any source.
They distract research
If they are defeated,
And do not know the answer
When confronted!
They approach you with words
They write very well,
And give people
The illusion that these words are cited.

هذا الزّمـــــــانُ
هذا الزّمـــــــانُ فكالقبانِ يوزِنُنا
فينا الثّقيلُ وفيـــــــــنا الرّيحُ ينقلُهُ
اعمل على الصّدقِ تدرك ثُقلَ كفتِهِ
واعلم هنا أنّ خِفَّ الشَّخصِ باطلُهُ
كم باطلٍ نال من شخصٍ بغيبتهِ
ليوهمَ النّاسَ أنّ الحــــــــقَّ شاملُهُ
يلبِّسُ الخصـــــــــــمَ ثوبًا لا ردانَ لهُ
وقـــــد نسى أنّ هذا الثّوبَ حاملُهُ
وكم صديقٍ سقى روحًا بصحبتهِ
يُنعِّشُ الرّوحَ مثلَ المـــــاءِ تجعلُهُ
وكم حقودٍ غــــــــــدا داءً بعشرتهِ
يضَيّقُ العيشَ مثــــلَ الداءِ تحملُهُ
وكم فقيرٍ بــــــــــــنا أفعالهُ كَرَمٌ
من فيضِ أفعالهِ فاضــت مراجلُهُ
وكم غنيٍّ بــــــــــــنا أموالهُ ضررٌ
من شرِّ أموالهِ سيئت شـــــمائلُهُ
وكم ترى بيننا من جاهلٍ هَذِرٍ
يُجادِلُ العِلمَ أصلَ الشَّيءِ يَجهلُهُ
يُشَتِّتُ البحثَ إذما كان منهزمًا
ويجهَلُ الرَّدَّ إذما كنـــــتَ تسألُهُ
يأتي إليكَ بأقــــــــوالٍ يُسطِّرُهُا
ويُوهِمُ النّاسَ أنّ القـــــــولَ ناقلُهُ
